Dear Visitor ji,
The FINACT achieved new heights under the leadership of Mr Amardeep Singh (President), Mr Mahesh Scaria (Vice-President), and an excellent team of executives and volunteers in 2016-17.
FINACT’s annual report was submitted at the Annual General Meeting on Saturday, 15 July 2017 and is available at www.finact.net.au .
FINACT is close to sign an agreement with the Cricket ACT to organise the FINACT Cricket Tournament into the future.
FINACT General Council has elected its new board of executives at the AGM and it is a great pleasure for me to be the President for 2017-18. The new team would like to express the gratitude to the member associations to give us a chance to serve the community. The new committee is enthusiastic and keen for new initiatives and to engage with the stakeholders to shape the FINACT in accordance with stakeholder and community aspirations. We have commitment to continue the FINACT legacy and initiate and achieve new milestones. Salient new initiative set by the current committee including:
Community Connect – FINACT is owned by the member associations and have several key stakeholders. The executive is making every effort to consult the executive boards of all member associations and Government delegates through meetings. We will organise a stakeholder workshop to seek advice and prepare a strategic plan for the organisation. Particularly, where the organisation needs to be in near future? how FINACT can benefit them? and how the stakeholders can strengthen the organisation?
Explore India Centre Options – India Centre (Club or Hub) is on the agenda for many community leaders and everyone has a vision. We are taking an initiative to coordinate through public consultation forum or workshop. This is to prepare an options paper and finalise a plan for the execution. This is a first step towards achieving a grand milestone for the Canberra Indian Community. More details will be outlined in future communications.
I thank you on behalf of the new Executive Committee for your support and trust in us. Be proactive and contact us with your grand vision for the community.

Cricket Coordination Committee Meeting - After Draws on 15 August
Cricket Coordination Committee (CCC) works on preparation, management of ongoing tournament and considers all aspects of feedback it receives through different channels. We want to become an organisation that learns from its experiences and from others’ feedback and suggestions, capitalising on the lessons of successes and failures to improve our performance every year. Continuous improvement is our collective approach in which all captains, managers and FINACT's executive committee members seek out, support and implement changes to make the tournament better, bigger and cost-effective, when budget is significantly constrained. Through making better use of our own and others’ expertise we can make a significant difference to our tournament’s quality, cost-effectiveness and impact.
We strive to strengthen our collective ability to learn and to reap and apply the benefits of that listening, learning, and building capacity and utilising feedback mechanisms into continuous improvements.
If you are also interested in participating in the next meeting of Cricket Coordination Committee, you are most welcome. We appreciate your valuable suggestions for the tournament.
You can help us as:
- an adviser - with your constructive advice/suggestions
- a volunteer - lots of opportunities before, during and after each match
- a sport administrator - being a part of decision-making body that is CCC
- a sponsor for the tournament - adopt a team or claim the title of the tournament
We appreciate and welcome all levels of interest in sponsoring our events. Contact us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Sponsorship Appreciated for FINACT Events
