Dear Visitor ji,
It is a great pleasure for me to convey holiday greetings for MERRY CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR celebrations.
This was an exciting year of community achievements for FINACT that include representation of communities and lobbying to alter Amendments of Citizenship Rules. We signed an agreement with CricketACT to recognise the FINACT T-20 cricket tournament as community tournament. FINACT organised the biggest community cricket tournament in Canberra. Initiated a public consultation to prepare an options paper to build India Centre in Canberra and there is an amazing response from the community to have such facility and we are busy in preparing an options paper.
We are preparing a submission for community languages accreditation in Australia and working closely with interested communities. FINACT is taking an initiative to organise a workshop for students coming from overseas and Indian communities outreach through Festival of India celebration for the first time.
FINACT is bringing another accolade into the New Year for the Indian Communities by having an agreement with Yup TV as a media partner that means all major cultural events from member organisations will telecast live by Yup TV. This will also enable FINACT to share the community news with many TV Channels across the world.
On behalf of Indian communities in ACT, I would like to greet everyone to have very best holiday season to rejuvenate your energies to harness many opportunities in the New Year.
Drive safe, spend the well-earned holiday with your family & friends and enjoy the celebrations.
Dr Krishna Nadimpalli
President FINACT

Children Language Sanctuary
ACT Bilingual Education Alliance (ACTBEA) is organising language related activities at the Children’s Sanctuary at the National Multicultural Festival in February 2018. One of the things we are doing is looking for people who can write in other scripts to promote awareness of the great variety of languages being spoken and/or learned in Canberra. Volunteers should have neat writing and be able to show children and their families how their names can be written down in another script. It would be wonderful to have several Indian scripts represented, so I hope you can pass this message on to FINACT members.
The Children’s Sanctuary will be in CMAG in Civic Square:
10am - 4pm, Saturday 17 February 2018
11am - 4pm, Sunday 18 February 2018
A small honorarium is available for volunteers who can help for a minimum of 90 minutes. Teenagers and young adults particularly welcome. Seeing their writing skills valued in this way may inspire them to further develop their language abilities.

Westpac T-20 Cricket Tournament 2017 Sponsors

Sponsorship Appreciated for FINACT Events
We understand that one of the main reasons to sponsor a tournament could be to promote one’s business and generate goodwill in the community. Sponsoring the FINACT T-20 Cricket Tournament will give you brand recognition among the fastest-growing community group of Indians in the ACT and increase sales or traffic to sponsor’s website through their banner on our website (www.finact.net.au ).
Indians are the fastest growing population in Australia. This has resulted in increased air traffic between India and Australia; increased telecommunication; and enhanced trade and cultural ties. Players and their supporters make playing cricket a fiercely competitive and memorable event. They will promote the game and use your services to show their appreciation.
In addition to providing an excellent opportunity to connect with the Indian sub-continent communities, the FINACT T-20 Cricket Tournament sponsorship will:
