Hello Visitor,
FINACT was envisaged just a couple of years ago to represent a wider homogenous Indian community. Today, Canberra Jain mandal joined us and made this family even bigger.
On 14 March 2013, as advised earlier, FINACT General Council (GC) meeting was hosted by Senator the Honourable Kate Lundy, Minister for Sport, Minister for Multicultural Affairs, and Minister Assisting for Industry and Innovation, at one of the meeting rooms in the Parliament of Australia. Senator Lundy briefly attended our meeting amid a very tight schedule and shared developments in the Parliament, especially in relation to provisions of Visa 457.
I thank all delegates and representatives of member association who extended their assistance, shown interest, provided feedback and attended the meeting. Some photographs have been uploaded on our facebook page at www.facebook.com/FINACT11.
Regards

Home Project Participation - Canberra Centenary Celebrations
The Home Project brought people from diverse backgrounds together to celebrate the diversity and depth of Canberra’s culture while honoring the meaning and importance of HOME.
FINACT and several of its member ssociations successfully portrayed “Unity in Diversity”, a concept that is dear and common to India and multicultural Canberra (the two places we call HOME).
We chose a peacock, the national bird of India, painted it in the tri colours of the Indian flag and written ‘Unity in Diversity’ in several Indian languages on the feathers. We thank all volunteers for their assistance in this project.
