Cricket Season Starts in the ACT

FINACT is delighted to announce the T-20 Cricket Tournament 2014. The tournament will be held in February – March 2014.

FINACT is inviting the member associations to send their expression of interest to participate in the tournament and send their team nominations before 15 November 2014.

The sponsor association should be a paid member of FINACT. The registration fee for the team is $200 and can be deposited in FINACT bank account.

ACT Sports is coordinating the “ACT Global Cricket Challenge” for kids.  FINACT is also seeking expression of interest from the players to co-coordinate the event.

Community/Multicultural/Indigenous event

As you know the Big Bash League (BBL) will be shown on Free to Air (Channel 10)  for the first time and will no doubt create huge interest to new and existing fans alike. Cricket is a sport for all Australians and here is your community’s chance to take part in a FREE Multicultural/Indigenous cricket event organised by Cricket ACT in conjunction with Sydney Thunder which will see the winner of the event have the chance to play in the Big Bash League Curtain Raiser Sydney Thunder vs Brisbane Heat on the 8/1/14 at the ANZ stadium.

To summarise:-

1. Event Date, Time and Venue: Sunday 10/11 9 AM start at FOOTBALL PARK, Irving St, Woden (off Launceston St)
2. It is FREE.
3. Open to players from the Indigenous and multicultural community, 16 years and over.
4. Get together a team of 8 and register at www.sydneythunder.com.au/thundernationcup.
