Dear Visitor ji,
It is with great pleasure that I send this message and my best wishes to everyone celebrating Holi, the festival of colours.
Happy Holi and Harmony Day!!!
Holi is a gratifying, fun-filled occasion for Indians everywhere. It is also a time to celebrate the strong friendship between Australia and India, particularly the people-to-people links we share. Furthermore, it is not just a coincidence that we are celebrating Harmony Day in Australia at the same time. There must be a mystic arrangement of the nature that when our nation is celebrating Australia’s cultural diversity to promote inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone, the followers of Hindu culture will be celebrating this festival of colours eliminating all distinctions of colour, caste and creed.
As part of Harmony Day celebrations FINACT has organised Community Harmony Day on 11 March 2017. The invitations have been sent to all the association heads and community leaders.
Thank You Member Assocations for Your Contributions
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the stakeholders including communities, Community Participation Group at ACT Government and federal Government on successful conclusion of the National Multicultural Festival 2017. I particularly thank the FINACT member associations for their cherished contribution towards the success of the biggest celebration of cultural diversity across Australia.

Constitution Review - we appreciate your feedback by March 31
The way an association is incorporated and continously improves its governance makes a huge difference to its effectiveness, efficacy and public perception.
Since the last review in 2012-13, the Federation has consolidated its position and represented the interests of the wider community. The time is ripe now to undertake a review of our activities and priorities, and get synced with our strategic goals. The realignment would allow us to take an active role in driving necessary changes through government and non-government interventions.
We need to look at the current structure that supports our strategic future plans, and processes and procedures underpinning the Constitution that must be consistent with the Act and the rest of the Constitution. Some of the key considerations may be
- reflection on our purposes
- reflection on our activities and develop future plans to stay relevant
- structure of our organisation
- are we able to bring a range of perspectives in our operations
- how the executive committee is formed and meets their care and dilligence obligations
- are the executive committee members aware of their roles and responsibilities
- do we need sponsors and/or trustees
- sources of financial support, how they are managed and how can be improved
- are the members aware of their roles, responsibilities and benefits
We are seeking feedback and suggestions from our member associations and/or any other well-wishers from the community. All inquiries and comments should be provided to any of the following members or to This email address is being protected from spambots.
