As advised earlier, Sun 21 June 2015 will be observed as the First International Yoga Day following the adoption of a historic resolution by the United Nations. A wide range of activities have been planned By the High Commission of India, FINACT and several Yoga Schools in Canberra. We encourage people from all walks of life to participate in these events.

Meet and Greet Indian Parliamentary Delegation on Thurs 28 May
Hon’ble Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Twelve Indian Parliamentarians representing various states are visiting Canberra.
FINACT is organising in association with High Commission of India the event Meet & Greet the Indian Parliamentary Delegation. The event is to facilitate the community leaders in Canberra to represent and pursue any issues with the Indian Government. This is aligned with the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to have better coordination with NRIs and improved foreign policy.
This is also an opportunity for us to welcome His Excellency Navadeep Suri, High Commissioner of India by the Indian communities in Canberra.
FINACT is hosting this event on behalf of all Indian Communities in Canberra for the honourable guests. The event is provided with drinks, nibbles and dinner in the evening. This has to be a cost neutral event and since there is a contribution for the dinner.

CMCAA presents charity event on Sat 23 May
CMCAA will be presenting a Charity function “Old is Gold with a Modern Twist” as a Charity function for “Ekal Vidhalaya” which provides education to Rural & Tribal Communities in India (some info attached). The function is for an extremely good cause. The ticket price of $2 and any donations received will be given to Ekal Vidhalaya.
I personally request you all to please keep this date free in your diary and support us by attending the function. Mane Manasa - Mental Health Community Intervention Programme
Mane Manasa provide free mental health service to poor people in Thirthahalli Taluk in Karnataka. This service is provided by a team of volunteer professional and qualified Psychiatrists. Community service activities that Mane Manasa team has engaged in Thirthahalli are to conduct a ‘disability’ camp and conducting interaction programs with community leaders in Thirthahalli focusing on the burden and disability caused by severe mental disorders and the role that communities could play in reducing these disabilities and also providing free counseling and medicines to poor people.
Suraksha Charitable Trust
Suraksha Charitable Trust is working with a special Motto ‘Together, towards for a better world’. It’s a charitable institution working with orphan children in Bangalore. It is working for the past 8 years with abandoned orphan children and those from economically poor or broken families in Bangalore. Main Objective of the organisation is to provide food, shelter, & education to the children & making them responsible citizens. This involves creating and maintaining an environment in which children experience a homely atmosphere.
