![]() Dear Visitor ji,While we were deservedly enjoying much awaited rains, breaking of drought and relief from bushfires, another catastrophe knocked on our doors. Coronavirus COVID-19 that was detected in Wuhan China on 12 December 2019 has spread to 127 countries, including Australia.
World Health Organisation has declared coronavirus COVID-19 a pandemic. It is causing significant economic impact and widespread cancellations and postponements globally.
Subsequent to the Council of Australian Governments meeting on 13 March 2020 directives have been issued regarding public gathering.
Considering the health and well-being of public and the directives issued by authorities to combat spread of COVID-19, the AusIndia Fair to be held on 28 March 2020 has been postponed until further notice. Several other events organised by FINACT members have also been cancelled or postponed.
Once again Australians are being challenged. We are dealing with a ‘constantly evolving situation’. Viruses do not discriminate. Coronavirus has reinforced the need for personal hygiene and cough/sneezing etiquettes.
Please stay safe, well and hydrated. It is particularly important to keep our frame of mind positive to give our immunity best chance to protect us. Let us look out for each other and work together so that this pandemic can be contained before it causes further damage.
Good luck to our country.
Sunita S Dhindsa President
